Bay Area Community Services is growing!!!! BACS is an established non-profit that has been around since 1953. We provide an array of mental health, housing, and social services to communities throughout Alameda and Solano Counties. BACS recently opened several programs this year and we are recruiting Personal Services Coordinators, ASW or MFTi professionals registered with the BBS. The Personal Services Coordinator is responsible for developing and providing high quality therapeutic interventions and services in support of wellness and recovery. Services include strength-based case management, therapy, crisis intervention, and family support.

We are recruiting for the following programs based in Oakland:

  • -The Re-Entry Program is an exciting short term case management that provides services to people with severe behavioral health issues, homelessness, and criminal justice involvement. Experience with jail engagement, formerly incarcerated clients, and outreach in Oakland and surrounding areas are preferred.
  • -The North County Housing Connect Program is a consumer-driven program that serves adults living in Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, and Albany who have mental health diagnoses and are homeless. The goal is to assist participants in creating a supportive network in their community through collaborating with participants and their natural supports to create a recovery plan that focuses on the whole person. NCHC provides case management, support for getting and maintaining housing, and assistance in overcoming barriers to independent living.
  • -The SSI Advocacy Program assists homeless adults 18+ who may have co-occurring disorders, limited treatment history, or food insecurity, obtain community services that will support their wellness and recovery.
  • -The Adult Hope Intervention Program serves adults over 18 in a peer driven model that provides mobile outreach and crisis intervention, including intensive case management, that aims to prevent mental health episodes.
  • -The Intensive Case Management Program provides community-based mental health services to adults in Alameda County (predominately in Oakland and Hayward). The program offers services to clients over the age of 18 who have an Axis 1 diagnosis.


  • -ASW/LCSW or MFTI/MFT with current Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) registration REQUIRED.
  • -Two years direct service experience required.
  • -A valid California driver's license, personal vehicle, and proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage. DMV printout required. Travel throughout Alameda County is required. Many of our positions also require fingerprinting.


Full-time, non-exempt, hourly at 40 hours per week. Very competitive wage range of $28.00 - $33.00 per hour depending on whether licensed. Excellent benefits package including fully paid group health insurance for full-time employees and a 403(b) with employer matching contribution, 20 PTO days, and 10 paid holidays.
